Friday at Misano was wet…very wet! The day was dominated by crashes with the majority of the field crashing at some point during the practice sessions and today also seeing important announcements within the paddock with ramifications on next year’s grid.
Following Gresini’s announcement of their partnershipt with Aprilia Scott Redding’s future also looks set to be confirmed over the weekend with the Englishman almost certainly leaving the team to rejoin Marc VDS on a Factory Honda. Redding said that he expects the decision to be made over the weekend.
Pol Espargaro has had limited wet weather running since joining the MotoGP class and while he has shown promise in the rain the track surface at Misano today made conditions as difficult as imaginable for the riders
Cal Crutchlow crashed in the morning and having waited for a scooter to get back to the paddock the Englishman finally lost patience and got his MotoGP bike push started and made his way back to the pits via the service road…certainly a rare sight!
Had an interesting conversation with the landlord for the house that we’re renting this weekend. When he found out that we were here for the Grand Prix he asked if we’d heard of Valentino Rossi…apparently he’s from close to the circuit and pretty good one a motorbike. Who knew!
